I’m Jess. Welcome!
Currently based in SF. Lived in Toronto and NYC. Occasional long stays in LA. Grew up between Seoul and Vancouver. Canadian on the extraordinary visa in the US.
Built products and operations at Brex and Mercury, alongside colleagues, founders and investors I learned a great deal from.
Moonlighted as a film production assistant in my spare time, where I encountered a problem that can be solved with AI, in entertainment production finance.
Forward-deployed myself as a finance intern at a TV studio with $100M+ in annual production spend. Learned workflows and built an MVP.
That became Centerpiece — intelligent payment tracking software for film and TV production finance teams.
Sold it to a VC-backed film and TV tax incentive software company and joined as CPO. This was September 2025.
Side quests: Part of the team behind ufb.gg 1 & 2. Text-to-video generation w/ Stable Diffusion (see inkspell.tv). Angel-invested in a few startups.
Now exploring my next venture — one that moves me closer to the work/craft I want to spend decades mastering + building. Robotics, AI (Data & Context or App/Interface layer), Fintech, and Agentic Commerce. Will always have love for media.

2nd week of September: 📍 Boston. Attending CMSA’s Geometry for ML Conference at Harvard.
3rd week of September: 📍 LA. Visiting one of the biggest studios in the world, to improve their experience using our platform.
Learning to weld my mind. Trying to write one honest paragraph a day.
